Get ready for Business Continuity Awareness Week 2015
United Kingdom

Business Continuity Awareness Week (BCAW) takes place between the 16th and 20th March 2015 and the main theme for 2015 is “testing and exercising business continuity plans”.

BCAW is the global educational event for businesses and business leaders to learn more about Business Continuity Management and how they will benefit from its application.

The theme for 2015 is certainly well founded! While common sense dictates that every organisation should have a business continuity plan in place, many overlook the need to regularly test their processes. According to a recent study by Databarracks, less than a third of respondents to a survey (29%) claimed they had tested their plan in the last twelve months.

For NetSupport’s customers, annual testing forms a vital part of their agreement, as Business Continuity Manager Ravi Pathak explains; “It is easy to cite the time, costs and disruption associated with conducting a full blown test but to ignore this key component is leaving you open to major issues should the organisation experience a real disaster further down the line.

Mr Pathak continues; “Annual test days are built into all our plans and the benefits are clear. This is where you iron out any issues and rather than relying on an individual, the whole team is part of the process, fully aware of their roles and responsibilities should disaster strike. I can safely say that in 100% of cases, our customers come away from their test exercise fully informed and in a much better position to react when problems arise. After all, the impact of operational downtime will far outweigh the investment made during the test day!”

Based in Market Deeping, NetSupport offers a full range of business continuity, workplace recovery and colocation services, so if you’re yet to consider the impact an unforeseen disaster could have on your company, we would be delighted to discuss your requirements.
