Small businesses must test their BC plans, says report
United Kingdom

Small businesses are least likely to have a business continuity plan in place, says a new report.

Statistics from IT security organisation Databarracks show that only 27 per cent of small businesses are prepared – with readiness improving according to the size of the organisation. Sixty-eight per cent of medium-sized organisations and 75 per cent of large businesses all have established plans, it reports.

However, having a plan in place is only part of the equation; testing that plan is all-important to ensure a timely response should a disaster occur.

Almost three-quarters of the small businesses who do have a business continuity plan in place failed to test it during the last year, says Databarracks.
